Minutes of November meeting
President Kate Marshall called the November meeting to order at 7:20 p.m. 21 guests and members were present in the undercroft of St. James Church.
October minutes were read. Motion by J.Clark; second by R. Molino:accepted
The Treasurer’s report was read and accepted. There is $1429.53 in checking and $ 23.42 in petty cash for a total balance of $ 1452.95.
Kate Marshall and Jeanne Cooper donated raffle prizes.
Susan Harries reported that the Johnston House garden has been put to bed. Andree Watson and Bev Youngs planted 80 daffodils and 50 tulips in the front.
Old Business: Membership dues should be paid to Connie. Every month now new memberships are added to the list. There are many other interesting handouts.
Diane McDonald asked that we bring books and magazines containing garden articles to the December meeting to share.
New Business: Dorothy Rich said that Neil Moran (works at prison) would like us and other non-profit groups to give him a “wish list” of plants we’d like to have his workers grow.
Bev Youngs said that Dec. 16th from 10 until noon, we will meet in the church to arrange greens. We should bring in greenery for the workshop plus two containers-one to take home and one to leave for decoration. C.Askwith left ribbons, etc. to use.
December 18 at 6 p.m. is our party and potluck meeting. Sign up sheet for beverages, appetizer, dessert was distributed. We should bring a wrapped gift for our exchange-in the $10 range. We’ll raffle off the centerpieces.
Ruth Molino will send card to Linda Sumner’s husband. He is undergoing surgery.
Demo: Marcy Misner showed how she makes birdfeeders from cups and saucers-passed around a drill bit for making tiny holes in ceramic and metal. Julie Bowman showed heated and bent metal forks that she turns into napkin rings. Both demos were very interesting and well appreciated.
Roses: Bev Youngs led an interesting discussion of roses and their problems.
Questions: There were questions and some answers about Shasta Daisy buds not blooming.
Refreshments were provided by Linda Beaumont, Andree Watson, and Fran Preuss.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
